Position Overview :
The Social Worker, under close supervision, is responsible for:
• Formulating and implementing appropriate treatment and permanency plans for children and families on their caseload.
• Providing clinical input into the therapeutic milieu to ensure the most appropriate care for each child.
• Documenting all interventions and required reports in a timely and professional manner.
• Coordinating all treatment provided to each resident to ensure appropriateness, timeliness and effectiveness of interventions.
Position Specific Duties/Responsibilities :
Reporting Relationships :
Reports to the Specialized Treatment Programs Clinical Supervisor. Meets regularly for supervision, coming prepared with agenda and utilizing supervision appropriately.
Position Qualifications :
Licensed, Master's Degree in Social Work. Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to utilize skills to carry out social work responsibilities as well as ability to supervise all childcare staff and childcare treatment programs. Driver's license. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks. Documented proficiency in basic Social Work training areas.
*Experience with At-risk youth, foster care and/or adolescents is preferred

Position Overview :

Position Specific Duties/Responsibilities :
- Clinical
- Reviewing referrals, participating in the assessment of a child's suitability for admission and assisting with well-coordinated admission for each new resident.
- Participating in setting, implementing and ongoing evaluation of treatment goals.
- Utilizing clinical skills in daily practice with clients on an individual, family, or group basis and through team meetings, which influence the quality of life within the milieu.
- Presenting targeted clinical formulation at Clinical Rounds and weekly treatment planning meetings, which will lead to decision-making regarding treatment and recommendations for placement and services post-discharge.
- Presenting holistic, non-judgmental input at planning meetings, leading to a balanced and thoughtful plan for each child/family
- Case Management
- Assisting with coordinating admissions paperwork within OMH guidelines; Assist with quality improvement monitoring of charts and closing charts.
- Attending inter-agency weekly planning meetings to update case planners on the treatment, progress, and recommendations for their youth in the RIC.
- Attending weekly team sociotherapy meetings; assisting staff in understanding needs and implementing treatment.
- Developing treatment recommendations for after care services for children and families as needed; consistent with regulations.
- Documentation
- Maintaining up-to-date records on all clients.
- Familiarity with requirements of all assessment systems (COA, ACS, OMH, SDSS, UR, etc.) and documentation of delivery of services in a format consistent with these standards.
- Program Development
- Participating on agency committees and at agency functions
- Assisting the Program Director in planning and developing policies and procedures for the cottage.
- Develop and/or implement and supervise clinical programs as needed (e.g., Independent Living Skills Program, sex education program, socialization groups).
- Understanding and working toward agency and program goals and objectives.
- Administrative
- Responsible for reporting to immediate supervisor, in writing, any untoward incidents and/or incidents inconsistent with Company policies and procedures, particularly incidents involving abuse (staff-child, child-child, child-staff).
- Supervision/Training
- Participate in agency training programs
