. Summary of Job Content:
. The Plant Controller will be the business partner responsible for challenging and supporting the Site Management Team as “commercial conscience” of the plant. The Senior Plant Controller will anticipate and address business issues and will drive good decision-making through providing sound financial analysis. The Plant Controller will have the ability to function in a matrixed environment at a broad-based level while being capable of driving detailed execution.
. Key Accountabilities:
. Budgeting Process:
. Initiate, lead and coordinate budgeting process (OMP) on site level.
. Monitor ongoingly milestones, priorities and initiate corrective measures when deviations occur.
. Challenge and approve cost center budgets before releasing to OMP.
. Financial analysis and reporting (monthly and ad hoc):
. Analyze and interpret financial site performance and make sure that SMT/BU has clear understanding thereof.
. Suggest proactively countermeasures in case of deviations to SMT.
. Disclose problems as “early warning” to SMT/BU Controlling.
. Evaluate production costs and its KPIs to make recommendations incl propose and initiate cost improvement projects.
. Work commonly with production to understand impacts on financial performance and identify cost drivers.
. Enhance Standard Costing of new and existing products in SAP.
. Risk management: Responsible for providing solid financial assessment of risks and reports to SMT/BU Controlling.
. Investments:
. Provide controlling support for investment projects and challenge business cases thereof.
. Compare regularly planned vs. actual of investments’ financial performance.
. Provide final sign off of all local investments.
. Forecasting:
. Prepare monthly P&L forecast, agree with SMT and provide to BU Controlling.
. Align forecast of Fiber Trading Business from Moses Lake via DE12/Meitingen.
. Business steering: Ongoingly analyze Gross margins and review with production and sales for improvements.
. Skills:
. Capacity to influence and motivate others.
. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Must be task-oriented and able to meet deadlines.
. Very good analytic and problem-solving skills.

. Education:

. Experiences:
. Minimum 10 years of relevant Controlling experience within a manufacturing environment.
. Experience in multi-national companies/matrix organizations.

. Area of responsibility: BU CF, Site Moses Lake.
. Total Sales: ~130m$ p.a. (~170 FTE).
. Fully fledged production, partly make-to-order production.
. Group interfaces: BU MC, BU Controlling, Corporate functions (i.e. Group Accounting, Group Treasury).
. Local interfaces: Plant Management, Production, HR, Purchasing, Finance/Accounting, SCM.
