Job Description
Our East Syracuse, NY laboratory is looking for a Pumps & Media Technician to join their team! The Pumps & Media Technician will work on calibrating equipment, repairing equipment, shipping and receiving equipment, preps for clients, as well as other projects as assigned.
Job Functions:
- Calibrates pumps and equipment for daily preps.
- Performs quality control checks.
- Satisfies all daily prep requests including quality control (QC) of requests.
- Responsible for listening to client in order to have a full understanding of any conversation that takes place and then being able to document any conversations with client.
- Responsible for being 100% thorough when coming in contact with client whether it is verbally, or in writing.
- Provides total client responsiveness.
- Responsible for continually looking for ways to improve processes.
- Repairs equipment and performs quality control.
- Checks in returned equipment.
- Performs quality control on daily outgoing prep requests.
- Answers technical questions posed by clients and other employees.
- Attends data integrity training and signs off acknowledging understanding.
- Ensures cleanliness of work area.
- Responsible for the timely response to all e-mail, voicemail, verbal and written requests.
- Operates within the guiding principles of the company.
- Follows all guidelines for acceptable quality control, investigates quality control failures and rectifies problems and brings any discrepancies to their supervisor’s attention.
- Initiates corrective action requirement.
- Understands and always adheres to all aspects of the safety program.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree and one year of general business experience or High School diploma and three years of general business experience
- Team player
- Well organized
- Mechanical aptitude
- Production orientation
- Computer capable
- Excellent time-management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
- Ability to sit, stand and/or walk for up to 4 hours at a time
- Ability to perform repetitive movements
- Requires ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
