What are the responsibilities and job description for the Room Leader position at Share?
Overview
Room Leaders at Share are given an opportunity to gain valuable work experience, earn some extra income in a part-time role, make a real difference in their community, and have a bunch of fun! Share is a nonprofit organization that provides support for children with special needs and their family members. Working under the supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Room Leader provides childcare and plans/monitors children's activities for Share's Respite Program.
Job Duties
- Be present to children with special needs and/or their siblings.
- Plan/monitor children's activities.
- Diligently review "Getting To Know Me" forms for each child.
- Attend required trainings no later than 30 days after hire date.
- Consult with parents during drop-off/pick-up.
- Consult with staff/nurse concerning questions about the children.
- Help children with restroom needs when applicable.
- Change diapers as needed.
- Lead volunteers by modeling/teaching proper, effective, and safe ways to care for children with special needs.
- Clean rooms once children are picked up by their parents.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with children, staff, volunteers, and parents.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must pass criminal background check
- Patience / Compassion
- Heart for helping others
- Alert / Observant
- Evening / Weekend Flexibility
- CPR/CPI Training. (Share will provide for you).
**This is a part-time position. Approx. 21 hrs./month.**
