What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cash Research Analyst position at Shared Services Center-Fort Smith?
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Reconciles all receipts including lock box deposits, EFT’s, checks and transfers of money.
- Verify and log incoming and outgoing receipts
- Verifies and logs all lock box deposits
- Verifies and logs all Electronic Fund Transfers
- Verifies and logs all Epays
- Verifies and logs all over the counter deposits
- Verifies validated deposit slips
- Reviews daily cash reconciliation (DCR) forms for accuracy
- Audits master DCR for correct approval when returned
- Completes master DCR, attaches all validated deposit slips and submits to director for approval
- Completes Daily Monitor/Recon daily, researches variances
- Submits variance for correction and ensures completed within 3 days
- Reconciles/monitors Unidentified Account, keeping within auditing guidelines.
- Monthly Reports to Director/Executive Director, as assigned.
- Facilitate weekly meetings with Prep and Balancing associates to resolve monitor variances within auditing guidelines.
- Work closely with onsite accounting associates
- Elevates patterns and issues to Manager to ensure these are resolved and do not repeat
- Ensure confidentiality of all patient accounts by following HIPAA guidelines
- Adheres to compliance of CMS and other payor guidelines
- Responsible for being aware of the current department policies and procedures
- Meet or exceed quality and quantity benchmark targets as established by management (productivity, AR days, Cash Collections, Bad Debt, Past Due Follow Up)
- Assist in providing communication and education regarding proper completion of DCR’s and deposit slips
- Communicate daily with management on trends identified
- Attend in-services, education sessions and department meetings as scheduled
- Working knowledge of all software systems involved such DAR, Pulse, ClaimIQ and Scanning platform
- Performs other duties as assigned
