Job Title Technical Engineer Position Overview Shaw Industries is looking for a Technical Process Engineer to primarily drive new product/new equipment development efforts as well as continuous improvement initiatives within the production process. Responsibilities: Analyze process and performance parameters to improve product efficiency and output. Must be able to set up systems to collect and analyze data as well as implement data-driven solutions. Manage the implementation of any process changes. Develop processing parameters for new products Develop quality specs for all new products. Managing and/or assisting Technical Manager with new developmental projects. Investigate processing and quality problems and implement data-driven solutions. Assist and lead Lean/Kaizen/Six Sigma process and projects. Set-up, coordinate, and monitor SYR (sample yarn run) trials; Also manage the SYR System Lead, assist, and/or support continuous quality improvement efforts. Provide engineering and troubleshooting support to all departments as needed. Act as a resource of technical knowledge about the process for other plant departments Comply with procedures found in SMS and Job Requirement Books. Perform all job duties using safe work methods. Comply with Corporate Absenteeism and Tardiness Policy. Work normally scheduled days adhering to starting and stopping times. Work overtime as needed. Effectively communicate and help enforce department standards for associates. Perform other duties as assigned by Department Manager as needed Competencies: Build Trusting Relationships Innovate Deliver Compelling Communication Demonstrate Good Judgment Requirements: Must have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering Lean 6 Sigma certification or willingness to complete Must possess good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills Must be able to work holidays, weekends and overtime as needed.
