Semiconductor Wafer Fabrication Technician

The Semiconductor Wafer Fabrication Technician performs operations associated with the fabrication of semiconductor laser wafers. All work takes place in a well-ventilated, cellphone-free cleanroom. We are currently hiring for first shift (6:00am-2:30pm) and second shift (2:00-10:30pm).

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform wafer production operations including photolithography, wet and dry etching, and metallization.
• Perform setup, calibration, modifications, and preventative maintenance on wafer fabrication equipment under Engineering direction.
• Measure and inspect wafers using a microscope, profilometer, and/or ellipsometer.
• Handle chemicals used in the production process, including hydrofluoric acid, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, and hydrogen peroxide.
• Mount and thin wafers using a slurry-based lapping wheel.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent, with at least six months of relevant experience and/or training.
• Excellent fine motor skills, including the ability to handle small, fragile materials using a vacuum wand or tweezers.
• Comfortable wearing full cleanroom attire and working under yellow lighting.
• Good oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to follow written operational procedures.

COVID-19 considerations:
Sheaumann's cleanroom is naturally safe from virus transmission, with HEPA filters in the air handling system able to remove extremely fine particles including the COVID-19 virus. Standard cleanroom attire is full body garment with hood and mask.
