What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Planning/Purchasing Associate position at Sheboygan Paper Box Company?
Under guidance of the Production Planning Manager, this position has primary responsibility of purchasing primary raw materials (Paperboard, Pallets, Film, Corrugated, Ink, Glue, etc.), outsourcing of any production processes that may be needed, and production planning across SPBCo’s manufacturing operation. Ability to negotiate purchasing contracts with key material suppliers and for outside/outsourced services. This position will also cross train into the miscellaneous estimating responsibilities to ensure appropriate back up capabilities are available during vacation periods.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred – emphasis in packaging and/or business management and/or 3 years’ experience in job shop purchasing or related process required.
- Purchasing production planning experience preferred
- Excellent attendance required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products required.
- Must be self-motivated, able to work independently and be a team player.
- Willingness to grow and take direction in a high energy work environment.
- Folding carton experience preferred.

Stuff We Make
Custom folding cartons, and lots of them. Produced on sustainably-made paperboard, most with 100% recycled fiber, our high technology printing and converting equipment sheets, prints, die-cuts, windows and folds/glues these folding cartons utilizing lasers, scanning cameras, scanning fiber optics, robotic-like automation and more.
Cool Customers
Our packaging protects, contains, transports and markets lots of cool products for our cool list of customers – however, in the highly competitive consumer packaging world we aren’t at liberty to reveal their names, but you’d recognize many of them, especially the leading CPG’s in Sheboygan County and Wisconsin.
