Job Summary:
Manager, Construction ensures the safe, timely and cost effective execution of Shentel upgrade projects and other construction covering markets in WV, VA and PA. Manager, Construction coordinates with contractors, public utilities, equipment vendors, third parties and internal departments to achieve stated goals. Is the single and primary field point of contact regarding all construction activity large and small throughout the region. Maintains and monitors safety conditions of Shentel staff and Shentel authorized contractors or 3rd parties. Holds internal and external parties to the highest standards regarding construction safety standards. Provides project management to ensure the safe, timely and cost effective execution of Shentel upgrade projects and other construction.
Qualification Requirements:
a. Education: Bachelor's degree in related field is required, or 15 years of equivalent work experience.
b. Experience Level:
i. 10 or more years outside plant telecommunications construction experience required.
ii. A minimum of 5 years of telecommunications construction project management experience required.
iii. Minimum of 1 - 5 years of direct management/leadership experience required.
c. Background in creating and monitoring detailed project budget and closing jobs to fixed asset accounts.
d. Negotiation skills required.
e. Licenses or Certifications: Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License.
f. Competent with MS Word and Excel.
g. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
