The Dietary Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in preparing and serving balanced meals to residents.

Responsibilities
- Assists the Food Service Director in planning daily menus to accommodate residents and employees, keeping expenses within budget.
- Purchases and keeps adequate supply of food and oversees storage and issuance of supplies.
- Instructs dietary staff of proper equipment use.
- Implements and maintains sanitation schedule in all work areas.
- Works with the Food Service Director to implement and maintain in-service programs for dietary staff on various topics.
- Supervises subordinates and coordinates activities of workers engaged in preparing food, serving meals, and cleaning kitchen and dining room.
- Keeps records and makes reports of expenditures.
- Calculates and documents daily guest checks and turns them in to the Administrative Assistant.
- Cooperates with medical personnel in providing special diets for employees requiring individual attention.
- Maintains the confidentiality of all resident, staff and organization information.
- Directly supervises the Dietary Aides and Cooks. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Requirements
- High school education; or up to one month of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Formal culinary and management training is a must.
- Candidates will also be required to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
