Sheppard Mullin Richter and Hampton LLP is seeking a full-time Corporate Staff Attorney in its New York, NY office. The position involves conducting due diligence for M&A and securities transactions and providing other junior-level support as part of the firm’s dedicated Due Diligence Team. Corporate staff attorneys also draft, review, and revise transaction and ancillary agreements, legal summaries, corporate documents and resolutions, and non-disclosure agreements. This is a perfect opportunity for a Corporate attorney looking to work at an AmLaw 100 firm, with an excellent M&A practice, and great teammates, and still enjoy more flexibility than a traditional partner-track position. This is a permanent, full-time position with benefits and no billable hours requirement.
Requirements:
- Active member of the NY bar in good standing (or passed bar exam with admission pending).
- Strong academic credentials and/or relevant work experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; professional manner for client interactions.
- Ability to take ownership of discrete projects and be able to work without direct supervision.
- Strong attention to detail, organization and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines, both on own and as part of a team.
