What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Major Gifts position at Sheppard Pratt?
General Summary:
The Director, Major Gifts will play a critical role in increasing donor support and act as an ambassador for Sheppard Pratt across the community, including the Greater Washington, DC area. The Major Gifts Officer reports to the VP and Chief Development Officer and will work closely and collaboratively with the Director of Development as well other department colleagues
Responsibilities include: new donor identification, cultivation, and solicitation of prospects.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience plus a minimum of 5 years (direct or equivalent) experience managing high level donor relationships with demonstrated success in closing major gifts.
2. Ability to conceive, plan, and execute a major gifts program.
3. Experience in building pipeline of potential donors.
