This position is responsible for the successful management and direction of the people, materials and assets of the facility for the purpose of safely distributing and transporting assigned products according to customer requirements, while meeting Management objectives of Quality, Service, Safety, Cost and People. This position is responsible for fostering and leading a work environment that promotes personal development of direct reports and high morale among all team members to effectively achieve all Company operating objectives. Ensures proper use of Continuous Improvement tools to meet or exceed site cost savings and productivity improvement goals.
Major Tasks Performed:
- Determine and establish procedures, programs and reports to maintain and improve safety, housekeeping, quality, shipping and receiving standards and employee morale.
- Determine, oversee and positively effect controlled facility budgets.
- Manage, coach and develop direct reports.
- Direct and oversee those activities that ensure the facility is capable of meeting all pertinent requirements (regulatory, corporate, group, production, etc.)
- Analyze workforce requirements.
- Financial – develop and execute CTS and Distribution Service Center budgets
- Corporate – adhering to the policies set forth by Sherwin-Williams
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be legally authorized to work in country for which you are applying for employment without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment visa status.
- Must have a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution or 8 years of work experience.
- Must have 5 years of Operations Management experience.
- Must have experience preparing and managing budgets.
- Must have experience analyzing the P&L and other financial statements.
- Must have experience with continuous improvement tools such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
Other Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful participative management initiatives and programs in areas such as safety, quality, service, people, cost, or sustainability
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong leadership, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage complex business situations and the ability to create and execute specific business strategies to drive continuous improvement
- Operations management experience in a distribution environment is preferred
