Registered Nurse – Flexible Work Schedule

RN Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • effective verbal and written communication skills
  • 1 year of experience required for ED and MED / SURG
  • 2 years of experience required for ICU and some SICU exp is required, float between MICU and SICU
  • Current CPR certification
  • Annual physical
  • COVID-19 Vaccination**

RN Responsibilities

As a ShiftMed registered nurse, you’ll be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Assessment: Collects and documents comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation.
  • Outcomes Identification: Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or the situation.
  • Planning: Develops a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes.
  • Implementation: Implements the identified plan; coordinates care delivery; employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
  • Evaluation: Evaluates progress towards attainment of outcomes.
  • Quality of Practice: Systematically enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
  • Education: Attains knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice.
  • Professional Practice: Evaluates one’s own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules and regulations and engages in life-long learning.
  • Collegiality: Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues, and communicates effectively in all areas of practice.
  • Collaboration: Uses the elements and principles of Relationship-Based Care and the unique aspects of diversity to collaborate with patient, family, and others in the conduct of nursing practice.
  • Ethics: Integrates ethical provisions in all areas of practice.
  • Evidence Based Nursing Practice and Nursing Research: Integrates evidence based nursing and research into practice.
  • Resource Utilization: Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost and impact on practice in the planning and delivery of nursing care; completes documentation to support completions of accurate charges and resource utilization.
  • Leadership: Provides leadership in the professional practice setting and profession; directs the coordination of care across settings and among caregivers, including oversight of licensed and unlicensed personnel in any assigned or delegated tasks; creates a caring and healing culture.
  • Evaluates his or her own practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules, and regulations.
  • Practices in an environmentally safe and healthy manner.

  • Hourly pay rates may differ based on the location of ShiftMed healthcare facility partners. All advertised rates reflect the wages ShiftMed partner facilities are currently offering. Hourly rates fluctuate throughout the week depending on the facility you schedule shifts with.

**ShiftMed adheres to CMS and local Department of Health guidance on COVID-19 vaccinations. Healthcare professionals must be up to date on all recommended COVID-19 vaccinations, including a booster dose when required. Healthcare professionals not up to date on COVID-19 vaccination doses may be required to undergo weekly testing and comply with mask mandates at ShiftMed client facilities. Vaccinated workers may still be subject to regular COVID-19 symptom screenings, including temperature and symptom checks.
