Job Summary :
The Shipping Lead leads daily operations within the department to ensure accurate and timely daily workflow for all small parcel, LTL, and TL shipments with maximum efficiency.
Provide coaching assistance to the packing team members.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities :
- Use shipping software and automation equipment.
- Stack products on pallets correctly.
- Prepare, match, and verify shipping information and manifest accurately.
- Assist with stretch wrapping, loading trucks, and all other tasks directed by Supervisor.
- Adherence to customer shipping guidelines and the preparation of shipping information and manifest. Strict adherence to 5S Principles.
- Manage workflow.
- Submit volume rate quotes.
- Verify all shipments for accuracy.
- Schedule LTL / TL pick-ups daily.
- Maintain the training program with all Shipping Clerks.
- Monitor missing Pick Ticket report.
- Monitor orders not moved to history.
- Overtime as business requires.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Job Qualifications :
- 3-5 years of experience working in a warehouse / distribution center preferred.
- 2-3 years of shipping experience.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Outstanding leadership skills
- Ability to work and multitask in a fast-paced warehouse environment focusing on customer satisfaction.
- Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints is required.
- Must be able to stretch wrap product on pallets properly.
- Ability to use Shipping Software, Automation Equipment and perform tasks per Shimano's standard operating procedures and customer guidelines.
- Must meet and maintain performance standards set by the company.
- Good attitude and initiative. Takes pride in their work environment and embraces 5S principles.
- Ability to communicate verbally effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Other duties assigned by supervisor.
Education :
High school diploma or GED equivalent
WORKING CONDITIONS
Environment :
- Approximately 100% of the time performing job duties is spent indoors in a warehouse with limited heating or air conditioning.
- The temperature of the work environment, when in the office, is moderate.
- The temperature of the work environment in the warehouse may equal to the outside temperatures of the area.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to the risk of electric shock.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands :
- Frequently lift from overhead or below the waist
- Occasionally bend, twist, push, pull, climb, squat, crawl, kneel
- Frequently reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stand and walk; grasp with hands and fingers; and lift (up to 50 lbs.)
- Continuously sit, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and key (i.e., computer, calculator, telephone).

- Frequently use copier, fax, and 10-key calculator
