Northwest Division
Shimmick’s Northwest Division focuses on transportation, transit, water resources, and water treatment projects in northern California, Washington, and throughout the Northwest. In 2013, the division expanded its footprint to Washington State, where Shimmick secured the $321 million E-320 South Bellevue Extension for Sound Transit. In addition, this division was awarded the APWA 2019 Public Works Project Award in the environment category for the Alameda Creek Fish Passage project in California.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Safety & Quality- Participate in the jobsite safety meetings, weekly safety walks, audits, etc.
- Project and contract administration – Preparation of change order request (Force Account Work/Lump Sum) for review by Project Engineer/Project Manager, ensure proper document control and archiving of project documentations per Shimmick’s process and systems.
- Financials - Help with gathering data for the monthly Owner Pay Application, Job Cost Reporting and Labor Distribution Report.
- Field support - This includes review, submit and follow up with submittals, shop drawings, and expediting material deliveries, generating Field Purchase Orders, create and track RFIs.
- Subcontractors – Process subcontract documentations and management of subcontractors i.e. pay applications, correspondence, change estimates, change orders.
- Other duties as designated by the project engineer, project manager, or project superintendent.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications:
- Concrete structures, MSE Walls, Rail, Transit, Wastewater, Levee project experience
- Experience working on Heavy Civil Construction projects
