Who We’re Looking For
ShipEX is looking for an experienced HR Professional to fill the role of the HR Generalist position. Candidates should have excellent communication and problem-solving skills for various types of issues or concerns. Written communication skills are also critical, especially for creation or reiteration of company policies. The HR Generalist must be empathetic, with great follow-through on tasks that require multiple follow-ups.
Primary Focus & Responsibilities:
- Assists with taking phone calls and emails; provides timely updates to other company divisions.
- Provides support and guidance to team members, managers and key stakeholders.
- Manages training, onboarding, counseling, and coaching team members.
- Develops, drafts, updates and implements HR policies and procedures.
- Assists in disciplinary actions, terminations and offboarding of employees in accordance with company policy.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and drafts policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Handle or oversees unemployment claims, FMLA, ADA, and investigations.
- Manages employee leave.
- Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that ensure that HR policies and procedures are being followed.
- Maintains employee and workplace privacy.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, talent management, and employment law.
- Gives engaging presentations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- A minimum of 3 years of human resource management experience preferred.
- Computer and technology proficiency: Microsoft Office, Chrome, Outlook, etc. and an ability to type at least 55 WPM
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
