EXPERIENCED TAX PREPARER
For immediate hire - Tax preparer needed for busy local Middleburg CPA firm. Hours are flexible and can range from 20-40 hours per week. This is an in-office position. It is not remote.
Job Qualifications, include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Verifiable experience in individual federal income tax preparation. A test will be provided, and references will be checked, to verify a working knowledge of the current Internal Revenue Code.
- Current PTIN from the IRS is preferred.
- Ability to organize and maintain work papers in accordance with standards established by the firm. This is key to the position.
- Personable and able to explain various tax laws in layman’s terms for clients to understand.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under deadlines.
- Efficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Problem solving skills in researching and resolving discrepancies in client records.
- Direct job experience in tax preparation of 3-5 years
- Working knowledge of Intuit Proseries software is a plus.
Job Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Prepare individual income tax returns for a range of clients.
- Prepare accounting and bookkeeping for small business clients.
- Ability to operate all office machinery including printers, copiers, fax, scanners, computers, etc. You will be using copier, printer computer, scanners, etc.
- Assist with other duties as requested.
Hours
- Office hours are 9-5, Monday-Friday, and a part-time employee will work within these hours.
Other Requirements
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills. You will be responsible for setting up and maintaining client files, reconciling the tax return to the source documents, and researching any tax law discrepancies.
- Ability to work under pressure and deadlines

Compensation based upon experience.
Three references are required and will be checked. Please include at least two (2) employment references who can attest to your experience in the job-related area.
