What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gage Technician - 2nd Shift position at Shively Bros., Inc.?
We are looking for a Gage/Quality Technician. This position is integral in supporting manufacturing operations, tracking, and managing the gages used in automotive manufacturing. In addition, you will work with quality engineers daily to conduct gage correlation studies and confirm the gages comply with standards. Our employees are well compensated and eligible for health care and paid time off.
The hours for the 2nd shift are 2:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare calibration reports certificates and maintain calibration data and history using our tracking system
- Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T specifications
- Perform gage and capability studies on new gages
- Track gage repair history, costs of premature failing non-calibrated gages, and obtain quotes for cost-effective repairs
- Make recommendations on calibration frequency based on data
- Manage vendor relationships
- Complete monthly layered audit of floor gages
- Assist the plant in troubleshooting any issues for the floor CMMs and gage failures
- Calibrate, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure conformance with established Standard Operating Procedures
- Coordinated equipment calibration services with multiple facilities and vendors
- Train personnel on gaging techniques and measurements
- 2-year degree in a related field or high school diploma with equivalent experience preferred
- Able to work with little to no supervision and ability to multitask
- Skilled at using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and measuring devices
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills
- Good written and oral communication skills and advanced computer skills
- Ability to work well with others, always exhibiting teamwork
- Demonstrated proficiency in diagnostic skills, gaging methods, terminology, and mechanical drawings
- Comply with all safety guidelines to ensure a safe work environment
