Job Description
As an Account Executive - SMB, you work within our Cross Sell Sales team to help grow and scale revenue for our existing merchants. You will be working with merchants in the Business Owner segment (small-medium businesses) as the growth expert powering high-velocity brands by providing value through various product offerings native to Shopify.
In this role you will:
- Demonstrate merchant growth skills to understand the unique business goals, needs, and pains of merchants, helping them grow their business with Shopify
- Engage with merchants across all communication channels (e.g. Inbound & Outbound phone, email, chat, etc.)
- Keep merchant opportunities up to date in Salesforce with accurate information
- Work with merchants through an end-to-end sales cycle, from intro conversations through to negotiations and close
- Collaborate on projects within the team and region with other Shopify teams to deliver the highest level of merchant experience
- Be agile and adapt to challenges while remaining calm in a constantly changing environment
- Be merchant obsessed, curious about the why, and tailor the conversation and product to the merchant's needs.

Qualifications
- Experience working in SaaS sales, business development, Inside sales or customer success roles.
- High energy and strong work ethic driving towards meeting and exceeding the teams and individual goals.
- Ability to work in a self-directed manner navigating through a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
- Excellent relationship, conversation, and influence skills.
- An understanding of merchant value and how it can benefit Shopify as a business.
- A drive to make cold calls and outbound to your book of business, “hunter” mentality.
- Quick learner and driven to maintain a growth mindset.
- Organizational skills that can be applied to manage competing priorities and change.
- Sales acumen with good discovery, uncovering pain and discussing the value of Shopify.
- Experience in full-cycle SaaS sales is an asset.
- Located in North America
