1st Shift - QA Inspector $500 Sign On Bonus
Starting pay is $18.50/hour
and
2nd Shift - QA Inspector $1000 Sign On Bonus
Starting pay is $18.50/hour plus a $2 shift differential, 4 Day Work week!

POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform final inspection of lenses, frames and eyewear to ensure they are optically and cosmetically accurate. Validate all orders meet Shopko and ANSI standards and match to the prescription specifications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
INSPECTION AND VALIDATION
• Inspect lenses to ensure they are optically and cosmetically accurate ensuring all work meets Shopko and ANSI standards
• Identify prism, axis, checking for power, checking optics, bench alignment and defects. Communicate defects appropriately
• Ensure optical accuracy by validating power, prism, axis, PD-s, seg height, lens fit and cosmetic add-ons
• Read the work ticket to verify prescription instructions such as tints, powers, adds coatings, tints, prism, special instructions
PROCESS IMPROVEMENT
• Partner with production team and support areas to identify breakages and look for resolution to improve quality and service to our customers
• Assist Production Lead – Finish and/or Production Manager – Finish with tracking defects or fixers in order to improve quality and training
• Use problem solving techniques to proactively address patterns of concern. Elevate to Production Manager – Finish for resolution when appropriate
• Partner with teammates, leads and managers when opportunities are identified for continuous improvement and offer recommendations for implementation
MAINTAIN SAFE WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Follow all company and lab policies and guidelines
• Adhere to safety guidelines and OSHA regulations
• Ensure machines are operating effectively and safely
• Ensure orders are fabricated only if a work ticket is provided
• Fabricate all orders in accordance with ANSI and company standards
• Perform stretching before reporting to workstation
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
• High School Graduate or equivalent
• Shopko OCE Certification required within 12 months of hire/transfer/promotion. ABO Certification desirable
• Minimum of 3-5 years previous related experience in optical (eyewear) manufacturing or optical retail setting
• Professional written and oral communication skills
• Interpersonal skills
• Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, data entry, etc.)
• Ability to problem solve in a professional manner and timely fashion
• Analytical and decision-making skills

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & WORK REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization through written and two-way verbal communication
• Able to read and write at a high school graduate level
• Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
• Able to operate various Optical Lab equipment and office equipment
• Demonstrate physical agility (bending, climbing, twisting, squatting, lifting, pushing, reaching, etc.) on a repetitive basis
• Ability to lift an average of 25 pounds on a repetitive basis
• Ability to see (Near, Distance, Color, and Depth Perception)
• Manual and finger dexterity, as well as hand/arm steadiness
• Ability to grip and hold items
• Good eye and hand coordination
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
• Able to work normal and/or extended (evenings, nights, and weekends) office hours to meet established deadlines
• Able to travel independently to support Company objectives and personal development
