What are the responsibilities and job description for the Health Aide position at Shorewood School District?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
-Emergency services and health care of the sick and injured child.
-When appropriate, administer immediate first aid.
-Monitor a sick or injured child until parents are contacted or in an emergency until a health care responder has arrived.
-Maintain a system of accurate health records.
-Compile a list of student's medical conditions for staff use.
-Receive/collect health care data and work closely with our Registered Nurse.
-Dispense medication.
-Provide students with clean clothing when necessary.
-Maintain guidelines related to confidentiality and reporting.
-Maintain/process related reports.
-Maintain required certifications.
-Observe good safety and health care practices at all times.
-Collaborates with District Nurse and the North Shore Health Department on all communicable disease reporting

-Must be detail oriented.
-Must be able to follow detailed written and verbal directions.
-Must maintain confidentially.
-Good communication (verbal and written) skills.
-Good interpersonal relationship skills, especially with middle-aged adolescents.
-Knowledge of and ability to employ good and safe health care practices.
-Must be dependable, punctual and have a good attendance record.
-Prepares medications and supplies for field trips, when needed and consults/communicates with teacher chaperone.
-Willing to attend professional development/training as needed.
