We are seeking a Purchasing Expeditor who will contact vendors by phone and/or e-mail to check on order and shipping date status, obtain current price lists and confirm delivery dates to key customers and Shorr sales professionals. Change delivery dates as needed, and update SXE with new and confirmed dates. Work closely with Buyer’s and CSR’s to monitor delivery dates and status. Assist the Buyers and Purchasing Manager in performing daily functions to support our internal customers.
Responsibilities
- Review open order reports daily and update dates as they change in SXE.
- Contact vendors to confirm and/or change ship dates as business dictates.
- Inform Shorr Sales Professionals, CSR’s and Purchasing if vendors’ ship dates cause a stock-out (stocked product) or do not meet customers’ requirements (drop shipped product).
- Assist the Buyers in returning product to the vendors by contacting vendors, obtain return authorization, and coordinate shipment and credits if appropriate
- Assist the Buyers on invoice resolutions and sourcing.
- Support the Purchasing Dept as needed to return or ship slow moving and close-out products.
- Assist Purchasing as required in obtaining various information from vendors, including NAFTA, sustainability, MSDS sheets, or other information that may be required from our vendors in the normal course of business.
- Obtain proof of deliveries (POD’s) as required.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Microsoft Office with emphasis on Outlook, Word and Excel. MS Access skills preferred but not required.
