Brewer

Short Fuse Brewing Company an award winning brewery located 5 minutes from O’Hare Airport in Schiller Park,IL is currently looking for a Cellar Person/ Brewer to perform all day-to-day cellar / brewing operations under the direction and supervision of the Head Brewer. They will perform all tasks following Standard Operating Procedures in a safe, cooperative, and team-based fashion. This individual will also assist in the brewhouse, cellar, packaging, and warehouse.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow policies and SOPs and keep accurate records.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Clean and sanitize the brewhouse, cellar tanks, and other equipment.
• Brewhouse Operations: Milling Grain, Mashing, Boiling
• Fermentation Monitoring
• Carbonation of Brite Tanks and Performing co2 measurements using Anton Paar C-box
• Adjunct additions to fermenting beers
• Beer Filtration using DE Filter
• Inventory Management via Ekos
• Fulfilling orders for Distributor pickups

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Able to safely work with chemical and physical hazards.
• Able to lift 55 pounds and maneuver up to 165 pounds.
• Able to work on your feet for up to 8 hours a day.
• Able to drive a forklift and willing to obtain certification.
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Desire for cleanliness with an attention to detail
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety
• 2 years of experience in a production brewery is required.
• Formal brewing education is a plus.
• Mechanically inclined and comfortable using tools.

Pay Range: $20-$23 per hour based on experience
