Job Summary:
Shriners Hospital for Children-Portland is seeking a part-time Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) to join our team! This position provides clerical and communication support to the Inpatient Unit by performing receptionist duties, directing telephone traffic (Unit and Hospital), arranges tests/procedures and ordering o f supplies and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous receptionist and/or administrative office support experience is required, experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
- Experience in a pediatric or orthopedic setting is preferred
- Current Ameri can Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Card Certification
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively to assure completion of patient care activities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrates the ability to be flexible; self-motivated; excellent with communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; able to prioritize multiple assignments
- Bilingual English/Spanish
