Overview
Fantastic tax opening at Shure! We are looking for a high-performing, hands-on, and motivated professional with 2 years of indirect tax experience to join our team in the role of Sales Tax Analyst. In your role, you will collaborate closely with business operations, finance team members, and outside advisors on compliance, research, audit defense, and corporate initiatives.
Responsibilities
• You will support and/or manages entire sales and use tax function and audit defense• You will research and respond to sales and use tax questions from business operations• You will review customers' sales tax exemption certificates based on state requirements and updates tax exemption management program• You will approve tax only credit invoice requests• You will provide vendors with properly executed exemption certificates where applicable• Review purchase orders and invoices to determine taxability and reviews use tax accruals for accuracy• Work with tax advisors on the co-sourcing of sales tax return filings and payments • Work with IT to ensure the technology aspect of indirect tax is operating optimally• Make recommendations on and implements process improvements• Contribute to corporate initiatives involving indirect tax • Assist with corporate income tax matters, including US and state compliance• Other duties, as assigned
Qualifications
• The ideal individual should be able to work individually as well as on a team• Must manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and projects in a fast-paced environment • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail• Working knowledge of PC applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and general ledger accounting software, knowledge of SAP a plus• Able to research tax law questions, interpret regulations and communicate research results• 2 years of previous indirect tax accounting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
