CLINICAL TECHNICIAN - POSITION SUMMARY
Records patient information, insurance and address on to laboratory request forms. Secures specimens for safe shipping. Records and maintains accurate patient processing logs. Operates in compliance with company policies, as well as applicable Federal and State regulations.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education and/or Certification:
- High School Diploma, or equivalent
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician, Medical Assistant or similar certification preferred
Required Knowledge:

Knowledge of collection practices, HIPAA compliance

General knowledge of basic office procedures
*
Basic computer knowledge
Preferred Knowledge:
- Knowledge of medical laboratory terminology
- Thorough understanding of the sample collection, shipping, processing and reporting processes
Required Experience:
- Previous experience in a customer service role
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in a clinical laboratory or related science/medical environment a plus

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and BASIC DUTIES

Submits regular reports and records as assigned

Safeguards data and maintains patient confidentiality

Escalates compliance issues, missing results, client complaints to clinical supervisor
- Reviews demographic information verifying consistency between requisition forms and patient documents
- Adheres specifically to all company policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations and laws
- Performs other duties as required
Physical Demands/Work Environment Requirements
Vision, hearing, speech, walking, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands and/or
fingers. The ability to safely navigate varied terrain on foot. Must have the ability to lift and maneuver up to 25 pounds and the ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position. The ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
