What you will do for Siemens Smart Infrastructure:

Within Siemens Smart Infrastructure, the Distributed Energy Systems’ team delivers, end to end, hybrid or standalone supply side solutions offering affordable, resilient, and sustainable solutions to, amongst others, C&I customers. Along with Calibrant Energy, a Siemens’ business venture aimed to deliver Energy as a Service solutions, our team is shaping the energy landscape of tomorrow.

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented service manager to manage service of the Distributed Energy Systems (DES) portfolio comprised of solar PV farms, Battery Energy Storage Systems, internal combustion engines and Microgrids.  Within the newly created Asset Management and Service team, the Service Manager (SM) will be an individual contributor who ensures the highest level of customer service, develops lasting customer relationships, and manages internal and external service team members. The SM maintains a strong working knowledge of all industry standards and practices as well as the company’s products and services. The right candidate will drive the delivery of service agreements, have fiscal responsibility for all project facets, post commissioning including billing and service cost reporting, and develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with customers and third party vendors. 

He/she is expected to play a leading role in the setup of the Remote Operations Center. Position could be based out of anywhere in US with preference to Austin, TX, and requiring up to 25% of travel time.

Responsibilities

  • Leads technical due diligence on onboarding projects
    • Reviews close out documentation
    • Supports commissioning process and Quality Assurance team
    • Reviews equipment list, warranty information and critical spare parts
  • Drives operational results
    • Tracks resources and monitors performance of power plants
    • Develops and maintains maintenance plans, and coordinates execution
    • Manages the requisition of supplies, materials, and services
    • Delegates ad directs service tasks, monitors progress of current service activities, and manages service organization members to ensure the team’s objectives and sales goals are met.
  • Manages contractual obligations, deliverables, and customer experience
    • Fulfills service contract obligations and documents events that impact operation, scope of work, and site performance
    • Develops customer satisfaction through excellent communication and work product
    • Ensures understanding of service agreement budget, activity plan and invoicing
  • Drives successful financial performance for assigned accounts
    • Coordination on timely execution of service contract bookings, renewals, billing, and activity planning
    • Achievement of order intake, revenue, and margin targets
    • Pursue project-specific change-orders opportunities
  • Manages stakeholders’ relationships
    • Handles customer complaints or concerns quickly and professionally to maintain good customer relationships
    • Maintains strong relationships with manufacturers, vendors, and service providers.
  • Ensures highest level of customer service
    • Sets up and maintains a service desk, within the 24/7 Customer service Center, and evaluates its efficiency
    • Develops field operational procedures to standardize field service standards
    • Audits work and customer service to ensure the company’s high standards, efficiency and productivity goals are met

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Technology or other similar technical field required.
  • 5-7 years of energy industry-related experience on microgrid controller, solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems, or Internal Combustion Engines
  • Excellent leadership, communication, sales, and customer service skills
  • Computer literacy and good organization skills
  • Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle stress

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Experience with Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
  • Knowledge and experience in SAP
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP), Professional Engineer, or other related energy certifications preferred.
  • Experience in Remote Energy Monitoring
  • Familiarity with Siemens Industry, Inc. and general energy industry practices and procedures preferred.
