Sierra7, Inc. is seeking Software Developers to support the operations Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The CMOP is a network of seven (7) highly automated production facilities which employ a mixture of robotic devices, conveyor systems, and human factors to accurately fill and ship nearly 120,000,000 prescriptions per year for healthcare beneficiaries including our nation’s Veterans and patients eligible for care through Indian Health Service (IHS). 80% of all the VA outpatient prescriptions are fulfilled through CMOP systems. Prescriptions are entered by healthcare providers into automated systems at healthcare facilities across the nation. Those prescriptions are routed to a centralized database called the CMOP Pharmaceutical System (CPS) which processes prescriptions and routes them to the individual CMOP facilities for fulfillment. Once fulfilled, the individual CMOP facilities generate information which flows back through the CPS to the originating healthcare facilities.
The position location is at or near one of the seven CMOPs in VA’s CMOP network (Charleston, SC, Chelmsford, MA, Hines IL, Lancaster, TX, Leavenworth, KS, Murfreesboro, TN, or Tucson, AZ).
Using a Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) methodology and Agile Framework practices, this project delivers development, testing, deployment, and security and operations support for legacy, current, and future CMOP systems integration and software development in a DevSecOps lifecycle. The successful candidate will provide development support of all CMOP maintenance and enhancement efforts organized in cross-functional, Agile teams of varying size to build and maintain a platform with capabilities to streamline systems, improve scalability, increase availability and reliability of services, and more accurately measure investments in terms of business value while enabling more efficient delivery. Additionally, work may include support of daily bug fix and issue tracking as it relates to the CMOP software systems to sustain production operations. The sustainment and modernization of the CMOP facilities scope of work tasks are aligned to the team delivery objectives listed below:
Maintenance: Maintenance to all software at the individual CMOP facilities used to interface with local production equipment and processes This maintenance function involves phone and remote system support with the seven CMOPs as well as on-site support.
Enhancement and Integration Support: Provide software services that improve performance, safety, accountability, controls, and documentation including software interfaces as new production equipment is introduced at the CMOPs.
Standardization and Consolidation: Lead efforts to bringing process and documentation standardization to local production systems that includes documentation, workflow, testing processes, code management, centralized, CMOP national-level, code management and other software development processes.
The quality Candidate will have experience with design, coding, testing, and debugging software. In addition, the applicant should have knowledge of the latest programming languages and techniques. The candidate contributes to software development plans and strategies, has experience in developing and implementing algorithms, understands database designs (SQL), experienced in designing and implementing object-oriented software solutions with an emphasis on industry best practices and design patterns C# (WCF, Web Services, MVC) MSSQL/T-SQL, and JavaScript. The candidate must have experience in devising possible solutions to predicted problems, evaluating other options.
