What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chemical Handler position at Sierra Circuits?
POSITION SUMMARY: The Chemical Handler is responsible for making chemical additions, new make ups, and all other chemical maintenance requirements to all tanks and conveyor equipment as requested by the Chemical Laboratory and/or procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Make chemical additions.
- Make new bath make up and chemical maintenance.
- Chemical inventory and chemical storage.
- Communicate with supervisor and managers for issues with the tanks and down time.
- Report and focus on the hazardous chemical handling as per safety rules and regulation to supervisor.
- Ability to follow and comply with company’s internal safety policies as well as external regulatory agencies.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
- High school diploma preferred.
- Previous experience in Chemical Maintenance preferred.
- Ability to be trained on chemical analysis.
- Ability to read and understand technical work instructions, and MSDS.
- Basic understanding of the metric system for weights and measurements.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as gloves, protective glasses, face shields, aprons, rubber boots, etc. Must not be allergic to common forms of rubber and plastic use of PPE.
- Ability to work within the confines of a room where concentrations of chemicals are located and work around very hot equipment and molten solder.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds maximum and able stand/walk throughout the day.
- Ability to move drums of chemicals using the proper equipment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow procedures and maintain quality of products at all time.
- Good computer skills and ability to learn new skills and tasks as required.
- Forklift operations certificate a plus.
- Ability to perform at the highest level in a fast-paced environment.
