Sierra Executive Solutions, Inc. (SES) is a 3rd party search firm recruiting for a Manufacturing/Distribution client company's next Buyer/Purchasing professional to support the evolving needs of its client-base. This position is available for immediate hire can be based out of Rochester NY, OR Reno, NV.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for planning and placing purchase orders according to forecast and actual demand within the ERP system Specific Duties and Responsibilities include:
· Utilize the ERP system to release purchase orders to pre-selected, approved suppliers, ensuring delivery as needed
· Manage inbound container and truckload shipments, maximizing shipments to ensure the most cost-effective method of transportation
· Update/Maintain the system, ensuring current supplier information on lead-time, pricing, and contacts
· Work with Demand Planning and Sales to monitor customer forecasts and recommend changes
· Develop proactive working relationships with outside suppliers and consultants as well as intergroup companies within the organization
· Assist and participate in continuous improvement activities. This may include collaboration with both internal and external resources
· Work with Engineering on set-up of new products · Work with Quality and Engineering on supplier quality issues
EXPERIENCE LEVEL:
· Min. 2-3 years’ experience in procurement, including global procurement, freight, logistics and customs · Understanding of purchasing policies, procedures, contracts and forecasting · High level of business acumen
QUALIFICATIONS :
· Excellent communication skills both written and verbal · MRP/ERP system experience
· Bachelor's degree in business or other related industry is preferred.
Proficiency with MS Office applications
Salary : $60,000 - $75,000
