What are the responsibilities and job description for the Acquisitions Lead position at Sigma Equipment?
Come join the Sigma Team! We are currently looking for an Acquisitions (AQ) Lead to join our Acquisitions' Team. The AQ Lead will be responsible for site visits to assess customer equipment for potential additions to the Sigma inventory as well as prospecting leads for other teams within Sigma Group (ex: surplus, C & I, etc). The role will report to the Acquisitions Manager and collaborate across the acquisitions team and other departments within Sigma.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
You will collect potential customer leads from various sources such as customer website, call-ins, acquisitions and sales departments, trade shows, canvassing and phone prospecting. You will then qualify leads to determine viability of site visit, coordinating multiple site visits per trip, and negotiate the purchase agreement. The AQ Lead position is responsible for researching, evaluating, prospecting leads, negotiating and buying products for Sigma Equipment inventory.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- In conjunction with the AQ team, trips will be primarily anchored based on Sigma Equipment and divisions of the The SIGMA Group leads
- Create equipment listings from site-visit trips, as well as as ; this will include equipment documentation, machinery pictures, manuals, technical research findings and used dealer market research findings
- Prospecting calls to potential customers and convey the benefits of selling equipment
- Manage the queue of supplier leads and ensure the leads are contacted in a timely manner
- Work with clients to determine the best method for selling idle assets (crate program, on-site lot purchase, consignment, auction, etc...)
- Negotiate purchase offers with sellers (and AQ Manager) in order to win the opportunity
- Follow-up on outstanding seller leads
QUALIFICATIONS
- College degree required, preferably in a technical discipline
- Strong customer service background
- Previous buying/selling experience is strongly preferred
- Highly organized, detail oriented
- Self motivated and disciplined
- High computer proficiency skills (Excel, Word, and other web based applications used in the selling process)
- Demonstrated negotiation and closing experience; preferably in a B2B environment
- Strong oral and written communication
- Travel is required - up to 50% of time traveling to visit clients and catalog equipment to determine best purchase options (globally, if needed)
