Mid-Senior Level Automation Engineer – Programming

Signature Automation is a professional engineering services firm with offices in Dallas and San Antonio, Texas. We are a fast-growing, dynamic firm specializing in all aspects of electrical design, instrumentation and controls (I&C) design, and industrial control system programming. We are seeking an experienced automation engineer to join our team in the Dallas office.

Essential Functions

  • Perform assessments of existing industrial control systems
  • Provide PLC/HMI programming and configuration
  • Develop historian and operational reports
  • Provide industrial control system testing and commissioning
  • Develop comprehensive training manuals
  • Provide training and support for end users
  • Mentor junior staff
  • Ability to travel up to 20%

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • Minimum of 5 years of PLC/HMI programming experience required.
  • Work in the previous 3-5 years must be at least 75% in programming.
  • Certification as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
  • Familiar with interpreting design documents including data sheets, instrument drawings, I/O  wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and P&IDs
  • Experience in water/wastewater preferred, but not required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be available to work in the Dallas,TX office
