What you should know about the Lender - Portfolio Management role?

Responsible for reviewing and making informed credit decisions on smaller credit requests, generally up to $2,500,000. Assists the Senior Lenders in the loan process including financial statements spreads, analysis and portfolio management including covenants, renewals, annual reviews, Reg B process, loan documentation and loan closing.

In this role, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Underwrites new loans and renewals and decisions credit requests within assigned credit authority. Works with Private Client Groups (PCGs) to provide loan structures that benefit the customer and Bank while maintaining acceptable risk.
  • Reviews and Spreads Financial Statements using Moodys or Credit Lens applications. Pull agency/third party reports such as title reports, Lexis Nexis, UCC searches, and other reports as needed for the loan review process. Monitors and submits Reg B reports
  • Portfolio Management: Monitors and reports on credit quality of loan portfolios and performance of each credit through receipt of financial statements, covenants testing and review of the ACBS/Loan reports.Address covenants violations per loan agreement.
  • Loan Documentation: Coordinates with PCGs, legal counsel and Sr. Lenders to order and facilitate loan documents requests, ensures accuracy, and compliance with loan approval.
  • Loan Closing: Responsible for working with PCGs, Legal Counsel (internal or outside), Sr. Lender and Loan Operations to preapre and coordinate the closings and funding of new loans and renewals.
  • Projects and other dueties as requested.

To be successful, your background should match these qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years commercial loans underwriting at lending money center bank to small and middle markt companies
  • Knowledge of industries, credit policies, procedures, practices and documentation.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field strongly preferred
  • Formal Credit Training highly desired
  • Analyzing financial statements, cash flow analysis, financial ratios, understanding and adjusting differences between cash and accrual accountng methods, understand various industry risks, and anomalies that lead to further investigation. Lending to businesses and occassionally special accomodations to individuals.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work and make decisions independently. Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • MS Office proficient
  • Using the information obtained through analysis to adequately identify risks and mitigate those in order to support providing credit and bank products to a specific client.
