We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented high school student to join our team as a Data Center Operator Intern at our Akron Support Center campus. This internship will provide an opportunity to learn about data center operations, server maintenance, networking, and infrastructure management. The Data Center Operator Intern will work under the guidance of experienced professionals and will be responsible for assisting with monitoring and managing data center equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime. Key Responsibilities: Assist in monitoring and managing data center systems, including servers, storage, network equipment, and other infrastructure components. Learn how to perform routine maintenance and repairs of data center equipment and infrastructure, including hardware and software upgrades, server reboots, and system backups. Observe how to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to data center systems, including hardware failures, network connectivity issues, and software problems. Assist in maintaining data center security systems and procedures, including access control, surveillance, and environmental monitoring. Learn how to maintain accurate documentation of data center processes, procedures, and equipment inventory. Observe how to communicate with customers and other stakeholders to provide updates on data center operations, status, and incidents. Learn about compliance with regulatory and industry standards related to data center operations, including security, privacy, and disaster recovery. Work collaboratively with other IT teams, including network, security, and application support teams, to learn how to resolve technical issues and ensure optimal performance of data center systems. Qualifications: High school student with a strong interest in technology and information systems. Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and perform root cause analysis. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other teams and stakeholders. Ability to work independently and manage tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and documentation skills. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds. Must be able to work in a data center environment, including exposure to noise, heat, and dust. May need to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed for maintenance and upgrades. Must provide their own transportation to/from the Akron Support Center campus.
