Description/Job Summary
SUMMARY
The SPC Coordinator supports the Signode Quality Manager, Signode Quality Team, and Engineering with testing and applications involving both development and operational research projects. Additionally, the role includes day-to-day process control and analysis utilizing SPC Tools. This is a highly interactive position requiring good communication skill and technical writing abilities.

Essential Functions:
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the Plant SPC program, as well as the development of new program files as required.
- Supports the Quality Manager in day-to-day activities, problem-solving, and troubleshooting as required.
- Act as a backup for the Plant Quality Manager when needed.
- Conduct gauge R&R and Accuracy studies and manage gauge Maintenance and Calibration Schedules.
- Maintain quality network systems, gauging, and Quality Assurance System (QAS), including support for North America QAS / SPC Systems.
- Assist in managing process improvement efforts within the plant.
- Conduct training for employees on procedural changes, test equipment usage, and basic SPC principles and applications of statistical problem solving techniques.
- Coach hourly personnel in the use of SPC on the plant floor.
- Provide process analysis to QA manager and QIT on plant performance.
- Demonstrate detailed knowledge of Safety and Process Control Requirements, S.O. P’s, and JSA’s.
- Set up Laboratory Test Equipment to perform product testing.
- Collect, document, and communicate data statistics using prescribed software.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of process control, product and customer specifications, applicable ASTM Standards, AAR Requirements, and ISO 9001-2015.
- Possess knowledge of Quality Testing Equipment.
- Assist in writing and training best practices for ISO 9001 certification.
- Act as a key resource person to assist with auditing to ISO 9001 Quality System Standards.
- Support the development of new procedures, process improvement activities, and Operations department as needed.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement and Corrective Action implementation reviews.
- Assist in troubleshooting and implementing corrective action activities.
- Immediately communicate non-conforming conditions to QA and Operations management and follow quarantine guidelines for non-conforming products.
- Conduct testing of returned products, determine failure mode, and lead corrective action teams.
- Perform testing of new products on Signode equipment.
- Provide coverage for Quality Technician absence and vacations as required.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- High School or Associate’s degree
- ASQ Quality Assurance Inspector Certification
- 20 hours of SPC Courses, Certification and or equivalent work experience.
Experience / Abilities:
- Minimum of 1-5 years of experience
- Experience in Quality Inspection/Assurance/Statistical Process Control.
- Continuous Improvement/Lean/Six Sigma
- Ability to read and write English and interpret and instruct with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to travel 10 – 20% of the time.
Computer skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint Microsoft Teams and Outlook)
- Experience in SharePoint and Statistical Process Control Software/JMP/Minitab
