Job Description
Administrative Duties :
This position will support the Shipping Coordinator and be the first line of contact for managing the customer orders for the Sample Department.
Safety and Continuous Improvement :
The Shipping / Sample Department Clerk is also responsible for involvement of safety initiatives and continuous improvement projects to drive cost and efficiency within the materials team value stream and performance as it pertains to the assignment.
It will support the overall competitive position of the business, and the profitability of the operation.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Experience
- High School diploma plus a minimum of 2 years of proven experience office management and administrative support
- Customer service experience is preferred
- Familiar with SAP a plus
- Experience in manufacturing / operations, 2 years is preferred.
- Broad knowledge of various plant manufacturing functions preferred.
- Critical thinking, decision making, and strong interpersonal skills required.
- Strong leadership presence and ability to work with various client groups required.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple conflicting tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Audit Customer orders shipments after staging
- Coordinate truck to dock inbound deliveries and outbound shipments as needed to keep dock traffic flowing properly.
- Prints shipping BOL’s for truck drivers signature
- Prints all new samples orders daily
- Works with sample department to communicate lead times and delivery date to customer service as needed
- Other clerical duties as needed
- Back up support for the Shipping Coordinator
- Involved in Safety Observations and the general safety culture of the site.
