What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fire Alarm Service Technician position at Silco Fire & Security?
Job Description
Fire systems technicians are responsible for inspecting and servicing fire alarms. It is preferable for applicants to have experience and Ohio fire license, although this is not required. New hires without licenses will be trained and required to pass the State Certification exam(s) to obtain the necessary license within expected timeframe.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Technical and mechanical knowledge, aptitude, and interest
- Successfully passing state certification exam in expected timeframe
- Desire to learn and master new fire systems
- Excellent communications skills
- Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English
- High school diploma or GED with 2 years mechanical or electrical experience or technical training
- Valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report
- Ability to lift heavy items periodically
- Successfully passing a pre-employment drug screening and background check
Compensation
Compensation ranges from $65,000 - $85,000 per year based on experience and productivity. Silco has annual compensation raises based on merit.
