Career Opportunity:
The inside Sale Specialist is a hybrid role between Sales & Customer Service. The role includes all activities managed by an Account Specialist in Customer Service. In addition, this role has the responsibility for achieving sales goals and executing sales plans. The focus is on identifying creative and strategic ways to develop new business opportunities as well as growing existing accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for inbound and/or outbound sales calls directly from/to prospective and/or existing customers to achieve sales targets. Review/respond to web inquiries to identify opportunities.
- Performs outbound sales activities including cold calling, lead follow-up, and sales qualification that leads to the development of a portfolio of customers.
- Conduct store shelf audits to identify competitor pumps to gain leads on potential business.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales objectives while ensuring the optimum customer experience and satisfaction using proven practices, processes, and procedures.
- Develop and maintain customer profiles and product files for assigned accounts.
- Manage assigned accounts including order trend analysis across three SBU’s, inventory management, and entering and overseeing progress of orders.
- Process all documents associated with maintaining and enhancing assigned accounts.
- Pro-actively engage with customers to better understand needs and challenges.
- Drive system, process, and operations recommendations that create service solutions.
- Establish and maintain strong customer relationships with accounts and reach deeper into their organization to help drive decision-making in a timely manner.
- Proactively work close with manufacturing plants making recommendations based on customer requirements.
- Work hand-in-hand with the Commercial organization to drive sales revenue and increase customer satisfaction. Lead all post-sales efforts to ensure customer needs are met resulting in a positive order experience.
- Take a lead role and represent Sales by addressing operational solutions/issues at the site of the customer as needed.
- Be the voice of the customer and communicate relevant information / make recommendations to the appropriate functional areas / management to ensure the appropriate attention is given in a timely manner.
- Provide Sales management with pertinent information regarding marketplace activities that could benefit/impact sales efforts in associated business units.
- Possess and apply detailed product knowledge as well as knowledge of customer’s business to make recommendations and drive growth.
- Introduce new products and services and visit customers as needed to develop a partnership and strengthen the relationship. Back-up co-workers as needed.
Knowledge/Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university
- Two or more years of direct sales experience. Packaging industry experience preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills, and multi-tasking skills
- Strong Microsoft Application skills; including Outlook, OneDrive, and Excel, along with CRM system experience, such as Salesforce.com.
- Must be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment focusing on short and long term personal/sales/organization goals, see the bigger picture, and think logically in stressful situations.
