Job Overview
The Material Handler will plan, direct, and monitor all activities connected with customer order fulfillment. This includes the planning, receiving and storage of raw material, raw material preparation for production process, shipping and invoicing of final goods. To work within safety guidelines and ensure that effective and efficient staff levels are used at all times. The scope of the position extends to support production and logistics in case of absenteeism.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure production is fully stocked with the required raw materials inputted into MRP (material resource planning) for all planned production runs, including sample & trial runs.
- Responsible for the procurement function of certain selected raw materials only (supplier selection, negotiating, creating and executing supplier contracts and procedures). Maintaining the suppliers list, monthly actual/forecast expenditure, price list and supporting accounting where needed.
- Act as a backup to operators & lead operators in production in case of absentees.
- Leading in development of warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements; developing, implementing, enforcing, and evaluating policies and procedures; developing processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management, and shipping. All according to FiFo and GMP principles.
- Finding optimal price points for all suppliers and constantly aiming to decrease the cash conversion cycle & lead times.
- Ensure materials are returned from production to warehouse in the designed way.
- Support JDE, the ERP system in order management
- Conduct weekly inventory cycle counts in JDE and report them in a shared location
- Accomplishes warehouse operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Meets warehouse operations financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances;
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Update organizational knowledge by creating, maintaining & following up on all SOPs related to the procedure
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
- Assist other departments when needed
Qualifications
- High school or GED
- Forklift driving experience welcome, but not condition
- Familiar with Enterprise resource planning (ERP), preferably JDE Organizational talent and good communication skills, both inside and outside of the company.
- Must be familiar with industrial environment

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
