Silver Birch of Michigan City is seeking a Cook to join our Culinary Team. Silver Birch Cooks prepare exceptional meals to ensure a high-quality dining experience for our residents. We are looking for a cook that is passionate in the art of cooking and making a difference daily in the lives of our residents and coworkers.
Silver Birch is an Assisted Living Community dedicated to providing the best care, compassion, and customer service to seniors in our living communities through all roles.
Responsibilities:
Prepares, seasons, cooks and serves all items as designated on set menu for assigned meal; ensure appropriate portioned servings according to portion control standards and recipes
Monitors and records temperatures of hot and cold foods through food preparation
Checks and inspects food products and supplies upon delivery
Cleans and maintains equipment and work areas in compliance with safe food handling standards
Provides exceptional customer service

Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED required
Previous Food Service Experience (preferred)
ServeSafe Certification (preferred)
Basic Knowledge of Food Safety
