Job Description:
Prepared Foods Manager
Job Summary:
The Prepared Foods Manager will oversee and manage the daily operations of the Prepared Foods Department. They will openly and effectively communicate with department employees to ensure a successful and high functioning department
Supervisory Responsibilities:
⦁ Train and/or oversee training for department employees
⦁ Manage inventory levels and purchasing of food and supplies
⦁ Plan and direct work and daily activities of department employees.
⦁ Implement strategies to maintain acceptable sales performance and productivity
⦁ Ensure department products meet the high standards of the Silver City Food Co-op, with a focus on organic, minimally processed, sustainably and ethically sourced
⦁ Utilize sales reports, invoices and other data to provide customer satisfaction and acceptable gross margin performance.
⦁ Maintain a variety of new and existing recipes for department production
⦁ Provide employee feedback in a conscious and effective manner, using a progressive and open communication style, including corrective action
Duties:
⦁ Ensure the department meets the needs of the customers with excellent department product levels and presentation, in a neat, clean and organized retail setting.
⦁ Achieving sales and profit goals
⦁ Oversee food preparation, ensuring compliance with health, safety, food handling, and hygiene regulations.
⦁ Active participation in production of products
⦁ Monitor proper temperatures are maintained at all stages during product preparation
⦁ Ensure customer satisfaction, including addressing customer problems, in a diplomatic and courteous manner
⦁ Conduct routine inspection of equipment to ensure compliance with health, safety, food handling, and hygiene standards, communicate with general manager if corrective action or repair needed.
⦁ Utilize Catapult Point of Sale system to generate necessary reports
⦁ Product purchasing through multiple sources, including UNFI, Albert’s Organics, Cooperative Distribution Company (CDC), Kehe, local producers, etc.
⦁ Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience
⦁ High school diploma or equipment
⦁ Previous restaurant/deli/foodservice experience required; management experience preferred
⦁ Successful completion of food handlers certification
Physical Requirements
⦁ Prolonged periods of standing
⦁ Working in hot and cold environments
⦁ Must be able to lift 25 lbs on regular basis
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
