Assistant manager

GENERAL SUMMARY

Silverspot Cinema is looking for a passionate Assistant Manager with exceptional guest service and fine dining / upper casual dining restaurant management experience.

You will be responsible for setting the tone for guest service during each shift and you know that your team's energy directly impacts everyone who walks through the front door.

This position will report to the General Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Objective : Carry out daily operational task and functions.

• Activity : Perform all task necessary to have all content playlist ready for the projection of each showtime.
• Activity : Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Activity : Control cash and other receipts by adhering to policies and procedures.
• Activity : Ensure proper stock replenishment.
• Activity : Assist with scheduling staff according to the forecast and staffing tools and employee time record keeping.
• Activity : Help gather data for payroll processing of staff.
• Activity : Perform administrative tasks and paperwork in a timely and organized manner.
• Activity : Maintain thorough understanding of all policies, procedures, and processes. Ensure team adherence to company standard operating procedures.
• Activity : Assist with recruiting, interviews, and selecting candidates with requisite skills to fulfill responsibilities and achieve company metrics.
• Activity : Arrange for new employees' proper onboarding (scheduling training and ordering uniforms).

2. Objective : Supervise, motivate, coach, and train the staff to perform their best at providing superior guest service, serve quality food and beverages and meet sales targets.

• Activity : Support the staff to meet sales targets via proactive supervision and up-sell activity.
• Activity : Train, train and continue training to develop the staff and provide the necessary knowledge to perform their daily tasks.
• Activity : Foster teamwork and align the staff to work in a collaborative way.
• Activity : Coordinate communication between front of the house and back of the house staff.
• Activity : Handle the resolution of escalated guest service issues and diffuse situations through proper service recovery techniques.
• Activity : Follows proper human resource policies as it relates to proper coaching and managing staff issues and concerns.
• Activity : Monitor compliance with safety and hygiene regulations.

3. Objective : Ensure that the physical aspect of the theater is ready and in shape to deliver the Silverspot experience.

• Activity : Ensure staff wear appropriate attire.
• Activity : Ensure that the theater FOH and BOH is presentable, clean, organized and well maintained.
• Activity : Guard and supervise actively the well handling of all technology equipment including tablets, printers, KDS, radios and more.
• Activity : Assist with floor coverage to support the team in providing an excellent guest experience and act as a role model for company's floor ready expectations in terms of dress code, and behaviors.

4. Objective : Manage Inventory of supplies, foods, drinks, chemicals, etc. to assure proper stockage to meet expected customer demand, control COGS and minimize loses, following the standard operating procedures and guidelines mandated by the Finance Department.

• Activity : Place orders as directed.
• Activity : Process deliveries and verify items received.
• Activity : Perform periodic physical inventory counts.
• Activity : Maintain clean and organized all stock rooms.
• Activity : Be strategic in anticipating inventory levels and stock organization.
• Activity : Manage controllable expense for the cinema within budget.

5. Objective : Observe all Silverspot Policies as well all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain as Food Safety, Health and Safe Work conditions Health

• Activity : Report areas of concern to the General Manager and use proper judgement in handling issues.
• Activity : Follow the proper protocols and refer to the employee handbook when employee issues arise.
• Activity : Report any guest or employee incident and follow the protocols immediately.
• Activity : Assist in providing proper coaching and applying disciplinary action through the General Manager.
• Activity : Maintain active certifications in all required areas of food handling and alcohol awareness.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• A minimum of 2 years Restaurant Management experience (upper casual dining). Knowledge of films and cinema is a plus and preferred.
• College degree is a plus and preferred.
• ServSafe Manager Certification, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
• Must keep all relevant certifications / credentials up to date (i.e. Serv Safe, Food Handler and / or Alcohol Server).
• Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and front of the house personnel and guests.
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to10 hours).
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high stress environment, while still delivering on our promises to our guests, ensuring a team focused environment
• Reliable, consistent work attendance is a requirement and essential function of this position
