POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cleans and sanitizes equipment and work areas using handheld high pressure cleaning hoses and equipment, broom, squeegee or hands.
- Ensures the equipment and work areas are cleaned in a manner consistent with established requirements.
- Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment according to established time constraints and quality standards to allow production to begin on time.
- Follows guidelines for proper use and safety of chemicals and equipment.
- Participates as a member of the Team. Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies;
- coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues;
e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives : Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies);
understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
Physical Activities : Be able to efficiently work in a plant environment. Regularly required to stand, reach and move about the facility.
Light to moderate physical effort required. Work in temperature extremes. work in a wet, noisy environment. Lift and carry up to 50 pounds of equipment or supplies anywhere from floor to above shoulder level.
Walk up and down ladders, climb into small tight spaces.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) : Will use water resistant / slip resistant footwear, eye protection, gloves, apron, hearing protection, hair net(s) and other protective equipment as needed or required.
