What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Manager position at Simpleray?
Your mission at Simpleray:
Lead the team that ensures our customers solutions are working at optimal performance and delivering a remarkable experience to our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Manage field service technicians and support them with advanced troubleshooting
- Train field service technicians (FST) to perform all of their various functions
- Perform field service work as necessary ensuring all customer service/monitoring issues are handled within acceptable timeframe
- Coordinate schedules for FST to maximize efficiency and minimize travel expenses
- Travels as necessary for advanced troubleshooting and advanced site survey need
- Ensure post-installation documentation provided by subcontractors meets Simpleray standards and guidelines
- Maintain list and schedule of annual service needs and O&M contract obligations.
- Ensure active monitoring of all systems in online monitoring portals and investigating any alerts promptly
- Ensures that proper procedures are followed to obtain manufacturer reimbursement for faulty equipment as well as maintaining customer warranties.
- Be a great manager for the team you oversee which includes everything from 1:1s to performance management to ensuring SOPs are documented.

Requirements
What we’re looking for in our Service Manager
Experience and Skills:
- Candidates must have prior work experience in the solar industry.
- Strong electrical background
- Construction experience
- Computer networking knowledge
- Management experience & a proven track record is enabling others to succeed
- Experience with solar modeling software such as Helioscope or PVSyst
- Familiarity with utility interconnections
- Previous management experience
Soft Skills:
- Great communicator with a knack for simplifying complex problems
- Action-oriented - Can complete tasks with varying degrees of priority
