The Opportunity
We are looking for a Billing Specialist who will be responsible for managing order, cancellation, and refund requests. The successful candidate will be joining a fast-paced environment where they can act as a billing subject matter expert. The ideal candidate is detail oriented and policy driven.
Your Job Responsibilities
What you will be doing:
- Proactively manage queue of incoming client inquires to ensure timely responses and successful resolution
- Maintain logs of any orders that cannot be billed due to PO/contract discrepancies
- Review Sales Order for completeness and accuracy
- Generate invoice in NetSuite after reviewing the sales order
- Create early termination fee
- Process refund and cancellation requests, and ensure policy guidelines are adhered to
- Send invoices to customers by email, submit to customer payment portals or fax
- Reconcile unbilled and provide a monthly detailed explanation of unbilled
- Obtain a copy of exemption certificate if customer is exempt.
- If sales tax invoiced in error work with outsourced Sates Sales Tax team to get it resolved
- Deposit checks
- Cash application/matching payments
- Meet company deadlines for month end close responsibility
- Involved in User Acceptance Testing with our new ERP system - NetSuite
- Perform other duties as assigned
Your Skillset
What makes you a great fit for the team:
- Minimum of 3-5 years related billing experience in a fast-paced company; SaaS billing experience preferred
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of billing transactions and processes
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to function in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Computer skills:
- Experience working with NetSuite, SaaSOptics, Quickbooks and Salesforce
- Proficient in Excel
