EMS Coordinator

• The EMS Coordinator is a registered nurse who works in collaboration with University of Chicago, Chicago Fire Department and private ambulance providers to ensure high quality, effective and efficient pre-hospital patient care.  This includes teaching, quality assurance/improvement and disciplinary responsibilities.  This also includes a twenty-four hour responsibility for EMS issues.

Minimum Education: 

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• BSN required
• EMT-B or EMT-P preferred

Minimum Work Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of emergency nursing experience

Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations:  

• Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state of Illinois
• BLS Provider and Instructor required
• ACLS Provider and Instructor required
• ECRN in Chicago Region XI required
• PALS Provider required
• ENPC Provider preferred
• BTLS Provider preferred
• TNS required
