What are the responsibilities and job description for the OUTPATIENT BEHAVIOR HEALTH PSYCHOTHERAPIST position at Sinai Chicago?
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The therapist is responsible for providing psychotherapy and other treatment services that affirm clients' strengths, broaden their problem-solving abilities, and increase their self-knowledge. Therapy is responsible ensuring that appropriate documentation is completed that is required for billing and coding. It is preferred that the therapist uses evidence-based practices in the delivery of services. The therapist acts as a mentor and leader to newer staff and Masters-level students. Candidates must have exceptionally good interpersonal skills, clinical insight, and comfort/experience working with individuals and groups.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Providing the following services:
- Individual, group and family psychotherapy
- Use of evidence-based practices
- Development of client centered treatment plans/goals that are measurable, observable and time-sensitive
- Mentor new staff and students
- Accurate and timely completion of required documentation in the Electronic Health Record
- Intake and assessment of psychotherapy clients
- Accurate and regular reporting to clinical supervisor
- Other duties as assigned
Education and/or licensure requirements:
- Minimum of Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling or related behavioral health, which is a license eligible degree.
- Licensure: LCSW, LP, LCPC, LMFT or eligible to obtain
Experience:
- Must be culturally competent
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
- Evidence-based practices
Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills with clients and co-workers.
Analytical Abilities:
- A psychotherapist will have the ability to rapidly assess and reassess a client's problems, goals and objectives to provide meaningful interventions to achieve client-centered goals that are measurable, observable and time sensitive.
- Psychotherapists will be well versed in the diagnosing of clients using the current version of the DSM/ICD
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in an outpatient behavioral health office setting. Therapists are assigned to individual offices. Work requires minimal physical demands of standing, walking, bending, lifting, and stooping.
