Palmer Candy is looking for a Shipping and Receiving Clerk at our Hwy 75 location.
Hours for this position are 6:00 a.m.to 4:30 p.m. Monday – Thursday, with overtime hours scheduled frequently on Friday and Saturday as needed.

Essential Job Functions: this position provides support and backup assistance with warehouse/logistics and other administrative duties in our Highway 75 warehouse.
Primary Responsibilities and Daily Tasks:
- Provide excellent customer service when checking in truck drivers
- Perform checks on seals, trailer temperatures, lot check, etc…
- Assess damaged cases/ pallets and record with proper documentation
- Communicate shortages to production, sales, and management
- Assist with receipts for Tegra and other customers
- Assist with checking in UPS/FedEx
- Process damages and returns through paperwork, pictures, and other forms of communication
- Provide support to the Warehouse Manager/ Transportation Manager/ Warehouse Assistant as requested
- Other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- Understanding of the trucking industry, including DOT regulations, scheduling, and driver safety
- Understanding of WMS systems
- Experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Able to effectively collaborate with individuals and teams from all departments
- Able to negotiate freight rates fairly and respectfully
Work Environment/Physical Requirements
- Office and Warehouse environment
- Lift 5 – 25 pounds frequently and up to 40 – 50 pounds occasionally.
- Sitting and/or standing for long periods of time
- Must be able to go up and down stairs, and walk to other departments in the manufacturing facility
- Repetitive motion and fast paced movement
- Work may require bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching
- Temperatures of warehouse may vary
