ESTIMATOR - GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS
Seeking a motivated Estimator to join our team on a VA Construction Program. The Estimator will report to a Senior Architect/Engineer as well as collaborate and assist VA client staff to provide data, and generate reports, as a representative for the client on major construction, seismic, real property, and other special projects.
Responsibilities:
This list is not considered all-inclusive and may be modified in the specific task orders. The CM services will be used to support traditional Design-Bid-Build and Design/Build contracts.
TASK 1. Pre-Design/Design Phase
i. Scheduling
ii. Planning
iii. Value Engineering
iv. Market Analysis
v. Constructability and Phasing Review
TASK 2. Construction Period Phase
i. Establishing temporary field offices
ii. Monitoring project financial data and budgetary cost accounting
iii. Construction Phase scheduling
iv. Progress Meetings
v. Assisting in issue resolution.
vi. Testing and Inspection Services
vii. Commissioning
viii. Performing additional construction-related services
ix. Claims Analysis and Resolution Services
Qualifications:
- The Estimator shall possess a current professional credentialing as an Estimator and maintenance of same throughout tenure.
- The Estimator shall be able to quickly understand and master the requirements of the local state and federal jurisdictions and the requirements of each.
- The Estimator shall possess a degree from an accredited institution of higher learning with a specialty in Estimating or evidence of three (3) years of construction estimating work experience and knowledge to compensate for the absence of higher education. Work experience may be substituted and will be reviewed for acceptability.
- The Estimator must have a work experience in preparing, analyzing, and identifying incongruities and deficiencies in the contractors' work in relationship with the baseline schedule of values and monthly pay requests. Work completed shall be identified in the credentials of the individual to show competency to undertake a rigorous program in construction for cost control in all identified task order scope of work required. A sample of work equivalent to this project shall also be presented for review.
- The Estimator must possess Communication, Language, and Software Skills with the ability to utilize a variety of software programs to monitor, update, and produce work products by applying knowledge of computer literacy.
